Why is it that when you're really tired and not thinking straight, a cute or creative idea comes to you? My nephew, Carson is having a little birthday celebration tomorrow and as I was wrapping his gift, just moments ago, I thought I should put one of the cute cards that I got from Costco on it. So, I went up to my craft room (where I keep said cards) and the first thing I saw were these cute colored pipe cleaners that I've had for years and of course have never used. So I figured, "why not!?!"

So here's how it looks! Pretty cute I think, although if I were putting it on a girls' gift, it would have to ton more pink!

I basically took 6 pipe cleaners and did a zig-zag to 3 of them and then curled the other 3. Very simple and very cute! I don't know, maybe I'm delusional since it's late and I've been working all day.

Families are forever... even if they aren't together!

So, my wonderful hubby left this morning at 6:30. He had to say goodbye to our girls before they went to bed last night. It's so sad to think about. But there's only ONE thing standing in the way of us being together as a family again. Only one little thing. Ok, so it's not that little, but at least it's only one!
Our house. Like I said before, the girls and I are down here till our house sells. It's a beautiful house, and we're going to be sad to leave it, but at the moment, it's more of a stress that I just want to get rid of. It is on the market, but I have no clue what the MLS number is.

Oh well, as I think over all my stresses, I have to stop and say to myself, "yes, my husband is away, but I know where he is, and I don't have to worry for his life like military wives have to. And yes, I have the stress of selling a house, but at least we have a house to sell. And yes, I'm raising the kids on my own for the time being, but they do have a father who supports them and loves them oh so very much." So if any of you hear me complain too much, just poke me and remind me it could be worse.

So, this afternoon around 1:30, Paul comes running in to the house telling me there's a fire just a ways down south of us. He grabs the camera and leaves. As he drives away, I look to the south and there's a huge pinkish gray column of smoke rising not too far from our neighborhood. The lighting outside got a very awesome amber color. When Paul got back, I jumped into the car and went and took some pictures which are shown below. This fire is about 3 miles away from us. Which isn't as close as the fire last year. That one was about 2 miles away from us. The pictures of course don't do it justice.

I took this top picture from our front porch! You can't really see it in this picture, but there was, and still is ash falling all around outside.

For being such a clear blue sky just 30 minutes ago, this is kinda freaky to see.

And here's a picture of one of the pieces of ash that are falling. This particular piece is 1 inch across. Paul's car (which is parked outside) is now covered with a light coating of ash. When we step outside, it's difficult to breath and inside it's starting to get a little uncomfortable. We might have to leave the house for a couple of hours.

So, for those of you in the valley who can see the smoke, yes, it is right next to us and it is affecting us, but everything is alright!

Our Family

Here are our beautiful girls! Amanda, our cute little 2 year old is on the left. Ashley, our beautiful 7 year old is in the middle, and our adorable Eden, 4, is on the right. Let's just say they keep life full of fun and sweetness.

Well, for those of you who haven't seen us in awhile, here we are! A little older, a little chubbier, but oh so happy! Well, to a degree. How can I be really happy when I know my husband is leaving for Washington State this Friday while the girls and I get to stay here till the house sells? Paul is starting a hopefully, wonderful new job for So, please, keep us in your prayers that our house will sell quickly so we can be a family together again.

About Us

As many of you already know, we're moving to Washington State! As my sister has begged me to start a blog, I figure now is as good a time as any.

A brief splurt about us. My husband, Paul, and I have been married for 9 years now! We have 3 beautiful girls. Ashley, Eden and Amanda (or Mandy).

I'm kinda new to all this blogging stuff, so don't expect anything too great or profound. For now just bear with me till I get the hang of things.
