3 Little Deer (not dears)

Things have been kinda slow around here. That and I keep forgetting my camera for our fun outings.

So I thought I'd do a little blogging about one of the reasons why we love this house.

Isn't that just too cute! That little deer and her mom hang out around our yard for hours! It's so fun watching that little fawn run and jump around. And since our backyard is mostly shade 80% of the day, we get lots of deer!

Look closely and you can see both the mother and the baby (on the upper level).

This is a different deer with her 2 fawns! She's a bit more skittish because at some point she's been injured and doesn't even use her back right leg. This is the second set of babies she's had since we've been in the house!

Now this deer, we're not sure if she's the mother of the one fawn, or if it's a totally different deer. But we get this single deer in our yard a lot too.

Last year we had a huge buck in our yard. He had 3 points on each antler. So cool, but the males don't show up much.

Here's a bit more of the wildlife we see on a regular basis. Not to mention the raccoons and the quail with their little puff balls running around behind them. Quail are very hard to get pictures of. And of course you can't forget the plethora of magpies, robins and blue jays!

One of our 2 woodpeckers!

I don't know who let these wild creatures in, but I think we'll keep them!
